About Us
Fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush and wake up to buffalo grazing just beyond the fence.
About Buffalo Bush Camp
Nestled deep within Kudu Valley Safaris, a private game farm set in the pristine Valley Bushveld near Glenconnor in the Eastern Cape.
We offer an authentic escape that doesn’t compromise on your peace of mind. Because our camp is safely fenced off from the main farm, you get front-row seats to watch buffalo and other plains game roaming just meters away.
It’s the thrill of wild camping, paired with the security of a protected perimeter. It’s rustic. It’s real. And it’s exactly what a South African bush escape should feel like.
Your Way to Experience the Wild
We believe that "going wild" means different things to different people. That’s why we offer four distinct ways to experience the valley. Whether you want to pitch your own tent in our open camping area, move straight into a ready-made dome tent on a raised deck, enjoy the comforts of an en-suite glamping tent, or settle into the privacy of the self-catering Kudu Cabin, the soul of the experience remains the same.
Whichever you choose, your days will end around the braai fire and your mornings will start with hot showers with a view. We’ve kept the frills out and the nature in.
The Heart of the Camp
Out here, life slows down. Our communal kitchen is equipped with everything you actually need:
- Gas stoves
- Gas fridges and freezers
- Wash-up facilities powered sustainably by on-site rainwater tanks.
It’s a place where meals are cooked slowly, stories are shared, and the distractions of the modern world are left at the gate.
Your Basecamp for Eastern Cape Adventure
While Buffalo Bush Camp is a sanctuary in its own right, it’s also the perfect launchpad for exploring some of the region’s greatest attractions. We are just a short drive from:
Addo Elephant National Park: South Africa's third-largest national park and the only place in the world where you can spot the "Big Seven" (including the great white shark and southern right whale).
The Cheetah Breeding Farm: A respected Kirkwood conservation centre where you can get up close to these incredible big cats and learn about safeguarding their future.
Rugged 4x4 Trails: Take on the self-drive routes at Darlington Dam or tackle the famous mountainous Bedrogfontein trail in the wild Kabouga area.
